Delaine Harwood is a dedicated criminal defense attorney at Elizabeth Hunter & Associates, where he leads the firm’s North Alabama office based in Huntsville. With a background rooted in service, discipline, and a deep understanding of human behavior, Mr. Harwood brings a well-rounded and strategic approach to defending his clients.

Originally from Dothan, Alabama, Mr. Harwood began his professional journey by serving four years in the United States Marine Corps. His time in the military instilled in him the values of integrity, resilience, and commitment—qualities that continue to define his work as an attorney today.

Following his military service, Mr. Harwood pursued higher education at Troy University, where he earned both a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Science in Social Science. His academic background provides him with a unique perspective on the complexities of human behavior, which he uses to better understand his clients and effectively advocate on their behalf.

In 2018, Mr. Harwood took the next step toward fulfilling a lifelong goal of becoming an attorney by enrolling in law school. He earned his Juris Doctor from Birmingham School of Law in 2021 and successfully passed the Alabama Bar Exam shortly thereafter. He then relocated to Huntsville, where he spent nearly two years in private practice gaining valuable courtroom experience and handling a wide range of criminal matters.

Since joining Elizabeth Hunter & Associates, Mr. Harwood has continued to build a reputation as a committed and reliable advocate for individuals facing criminal charges. He approaches every case with attention to detail, thorough preparation, and a determination to protect his clients’ rights and achieve the best possible outcomes.

Mr. Harwood is known for his approachable demeanor and strong work ethic, ensuring that each client feels informed, supported, and confident throughout the legal process. Outside of his legal practice, Mr. Harwood enjoys spending time with his wife, Carrie, and their three children. He is also an avid Auburn football fan and enjoys playing golf in his free time.
